15 Embarrassing Fan Pictures that Celebrity Athletes would have turned down

Not every sports star fancies appearing in fan photos. The life of a sports star is quite simple; they start quite early; they make huge money; they retire young and live up to their childhood dreams. Irrespective of the sports they chose, if they can get to the apex of their career, they become celebrities.

However, one of the downsides to being a sports celebrity is, your privacy might be challenging to manage. For several sportspersons, anytime they step out, they have had to manage a mammoth crowd requesting pictures and autographs.

One thing that fans fail to realize is, these celebrities have no idea of our identity. And it could be tiring having to grant fans’ requests anytime they leave their apartment. This is one reason why some celebrities do not usually look excited when they take pictures with their fans.

Below are some incidences where sports stars were less thrilled while posing for the camera

Tiger Woods is one of the most popular and successful top-notch golfers in the world. The Cypress, California born golfer has lots of records to his name all through his career. He has been named the number one golfer globally for a good number of consecutive weeks. He is also an 11-time winner of the PGA player of the year award, and he topped the money list for good ten seasons.

Tiger Woods has a record of 14 majors to his name, and he is second to the great Jack Nicklaus, who has 18. Forbes Magazine, in 2009, estimated that the 6.1-foot star had a net worth of about $600 million, which made him the richest African-American, second only to Oprah Winfrey.

The embarrassing “star-fan” picture moment was during the World Golf Championship at Doral, Florida, in March 2014. During the event, Tiger woods accidentally hit two fans cum spectators with golf balls. Thankfully, none of the fans sustained serious injuries. And also, each of them went home with a pair of gloves autographed by Tiger Woods.

It is correct to say that the incident was not one of the best moments in golf, and this was apparent on the look on Tiger Woods’s face.

The 21-year-old professional hockey player is the current captain for Edmonton Oilers in the NHL. When he was 19 years old, he was made the captain of his team, and this earned him the title of the youngest hockey player in NHL’s history.

Connor was born and bred in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada; he was picked as the overall first in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. During his second league season, Connor won the coveted Art Ross Trophy, given to the top scorer in NHL. Still, he won the Hart Memorial Trophy for the team’s most valuable player in that season.

The 6.1 native of Canada took home the Ted Lindsay Award due to amassed votes by his peers in the league. And in 2017, he entered into a mind-blowing deal with the Oilers. The deal was a contract for eight years, which was valued at $100 million. This deal made Connor the highest-paid hockey player in the league. And even though his team didn’t get to the postseason in 2018, he was one of the finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award.

Banks has clinched the Raw Women Championship title on four occasions. And when she was in developmental, Banks, also called “The Boss,” won the NXT Women’s Championship.

Banks made history in 2016 when she became the first woman, alongside Charlotte Flair, her opponent, to be the first female in the history of WWE to headline a WWE pay-per-view in a cell. Banks is not the only superstar in the family. She has some notable first cousins like Brandy Norwood (Singer), Snoop Dogg (Rapper), Ray J (Musician), and Daz Dillinger, the popular music producer.

Banks’ husband is Sarath “Kid Mikaze” Ton, who currently works as a WWE costume designer. Banks once mentioned on her social media that she does not fancy being stalked by her fans when she is in motion.

The 33-year-old professional fighter is known to be a fearless and blunt individual. Nate has recorded some important victories over some fighters like Conor McGregor, Gray Maynard, and Donald Cerrone.

When Nate defeated McGregor, who was the most famous MMA fighter, Diaz became a household name in the sport. In August 2016, the Stockton-born lost a rematch against McGregor in what could be regarded as a result of a challenging decision during the match.

Interestingly, Nate Diaz has a brother with the UFC, Nick Diaz. Nick is also famous for defeating fighting legends like Frank Shamrock and B.J Penn. Currently, Nate’s professional record is 19-11.

Even though Nate is seen as someone with a gruff-exterior, he is quite cool with fans. However, it is not obvious in this picture. It looked like he had a long day because it was written all over his face.

In 2011, the 5’5 blonde captured the World Wrestling Entertainment Divas Championship, and she was one of the organization’s foremost stars for a while. Kelly Kelly was notable for matches with Brie Bella, Maryse, and Beth Phoenix.

In 2012, her contract with the company ended, and at the end of her professional career, she began dating hockey star Sheldon Souray, and they got married in February 2016. The duo had some memorable moments together before they officially split in late 2017.

In February 1990, Mike Tyson lost his first fight against Buster Douglas. Till today, Douglas’ victory is one of the surprising upsets in boxing. One of Tyson’s ill-famed moments was when he bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a rematch in June 1997.

This act caused Tyson to be disqualified. Later on, Tyson lost three of the last four fights he had. And he retired from fighting in 2005 after his loss to Kevin McBride.

He won his first championship by knocking out featherweight legend Aldo Jose within 13 seconds. And he made the news recently when he was to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. Connor eventually lost the match to Mayweather, but he tried to last for about ten rounds with the boxing legend.

After the match with Mayweather, some boxing pundits predicted that the fight might be the last for McGregor.

In 1949, the Lakers won their first championship title, and their recent was in 2010. Some of the popular figures to wear a Lakers jersey are Kobe Bryant, Ervin Johnson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. In total, 23 erstwhile Lakers have been initiated into the NBA’s hall of fame.

Like other NBA teams, the Lakers have their dance squad, and the ladies are called The Lakers Girls. From this photo, one of the functions of a Laker Girl is to appear at regular fast-food joints and take photographs with the fans.

However, the girl on the left tries hard to smile, but it obvious that she was not excited to be in the photo.

During her sojourn in the WWE, AJ Lee clinched the Divas Championship title a record three times, and one of her reigns lasted for a whopping 406 days. Fans cannot forget the New Jersey brunette native for her exemplary work as the fictional GM of Monday’s Night Raw.

The 31-year-old had unforgettable matches with female greats like Kaitlyn, The Bella Twins, and Paige. Lee left the company in 2015 majorly due to her injury and her husband’s feud with WWE. When she retired, she published an autobiography titled: Crazy is My Superpower- How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules. Her book became a best seller in the New York Times.

In the early 2000s, Shaquille, who formerly played as a central player, clinched 3 NBA championship titles with his team, the Los Angeles Lakers. And he won another NBA championship title with the Miami Heat in 2006.

Shaquille’s final season was in 2011 with the Boston Celtics. Shaquille was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Asides from Basketball, the NBA star has experienced some wins as an entertainer. He’s had some rap albums, and his “Shaq Diesel” went platinum.

Also, Shaq starred in some notable movies like Steel, Kazaam, and Blue-chips. In this picture, the unpleasant smile on Shaq’s face showed he was not comfortable with the way the fan wrapped his arm around his body.

Phil “CM PUNK” Brooks is an erstwhile professional wrestler and present MMA fighter with the UFC. He is popular for his smooth record in WWE from 2005-2014. During this period, he won the WWE title for a record five times alongside putting up the character of an individual who does not abuse substances like alcohol and drugs.

In 2014, the Chicago superstar left WWE because of health problems. Since then, he has commenced training as an MMA fighter, and he competed in the UFC. In his first match, he faced Mickey Gall, but he lost by submission during the first round.
